Let me introduce myself--my name is Randy De Troit.

A little about me:                                                                                                                                         

I've been in the adult business for 18 years and absolutely love what I do.

I've been teaching these classes for a few years now, I realized there was a need as the adult biz is always booming and getting more famous every year. I myself have created many adult producers that are now in the industry and doing very well, including Rodney Moore (Rodneyvision). 

I am in Los Angeles and offer these classes in person in North Hollywood. 

You can also buy a cd-rom of the class, if you can't make it to Los Angeles. 

Class Structure: 

The class structure is as such: The classes are designed in three basic parts beginning with the lecture, continuing with a shooting class, and finally an editing session. But private independent study is available on a one-on-one basis, and can be custom designed to fit your time and particular interests. Distribution may be discussed as another possible option. I engage in limited partnerships sometimes with my students. 

Lecture: The first day of Porn-Biz101 (5 hrs) is strictly a lecture using printed materials & video examples. It usually goes on for over 5 hours, so do bring plenty of water & writing materials, as there is no written material at this time. I will exhaust all questions you have, so at the close of the class time you will have complete confidence in working in relationships with others or as a complete independent producer. You are allowed to bring a sound recording device only. I will walk you through chronologically from beginning to end on how to conceptualize, produce, write, direct, shoot, edit, package & market your very own independent adult production.

The lecture will cover all pertinent material enabling you to set up and start your very own X-Rated business with a minimum amount of investment. What equipment & where to purchase it, where to advertise, what to say in the ad, what to pay the girls, what to say to them, how to cast, direct, write a script, block a scene, rehearse, where to shoot, how to get what you need from your actors & actresses in order to accomplish your goals, tech & spec givens, where to sell; contacts to sell your raw footage, online auctions, content brokers, DSL, computer tips and programs, NLE editing, & digital shooting, how to shoot with no cameraman, lighting, how to create your publicity and promotional box cover material, where to print, legalities, genres of x, product lengths, public & private shooting tips. The lecture will begin with excerpts from a PBS special on Pornography, as will be an actual Playboy shoot. You will be given a printed handout with resources for raw materials, free business cards, equipment repair , talent agencies, raw materials, etc.

Class Pricing:

Varies per person. Everyone is different. Come to the FREE introduction class and we'll go from there. I take cash, money orders, cashier's checks & credit cards. 

Shooting Class: The second class is optional and is the shooting class where all participants come out with a minimum of one hour raw video tape to be edited later on your own or in the editing class. You will be provided with live models with which to shoot, lighting, location, releases and model ID scans. If you choose not to shoot yourself, you will need to hire a cameraman to shoot stills & video with you filling producer shoes and directing the action. You will work with others and be taught how to set up a shot, focus on one particular angle at a time, composition & lighting. You will be schooled on how to get what you want out of your actors by directing them. Several web pages on my other website (www.detroitsharem.com) are dedicated for male & female talent.

You must provide your own camera. The reason for this is that the models must be booked ahead of time and paid regardless if any actual shooting takes place.  Producers will be able to discuss what it is they are trying to accomplish as their best case scenarios. There will be plenty of time to achieve principal photography & take still shots, as the class won't conclude until this is accomplished. 

Editing Class: The third and final class is optional and is the editing class where all participants come away with a minimum one hour finished videotape master. You will be taught to edit on your own with a minimum amount of help your very own finished master videotape to be sold for dollars in the adult marketplace. You will work with a New-Tek Video Toaster, which is analog for beginners, utilizing ¾ inch mastering tape and remote controlled editor, ultimately enabling copies to be made.  You will be given the US 2257 Federal guidelines & disclaimer material necessary to release and distribute this product in the open market with your name and  location as the Custodian of Records. This will also include computer-generated graphic title pages.

You will utilize your raw DV, SVHS or VHS footage in finalizing the completed master tape. You own the complete rights to this forever unless you sell it. Your camera masters and edited master will be kept in a cool dry place in the case of selling exclusive rights or re-editing in the future. You will then be able to contact me personally for the remainder of your LIFE by email or phone for any information updates, industry functions, special events, new models, questions and/or possible joint ventures. 

Class Schedule:

One hour FREE introduction to the different levels of lectures and hands-on camera and editing training, EVERY Saturday (unless a holiday)  from 12pm-1pm (North Hollywood). 

Classes start at 1pm. One per month, every 3rd week of month.

This information is NOT TAUGHT IN PORN-BIZ 101 lecture, only mentioned. It is only available at fine arts colleges and film schools where you need to enroll and spend over $10,000. This class is considered additional, not mandatory, optional for those students who want to take their digital processing education to the next level.

This class will last until the last member present has performed ALL of the functions above at least once by themselves. At that point the class will be released.

Class price is $500 and is made with an advanced reservation only and deposit of $50. It usually takes 8 hours. Reservations being taken NOW!
